Country #59 – Northern Ireland

I could not go to Ireland without visiting Northern Island. I have always been fascinated by the country because of its turbulent history. We took the train from Dublin and before long, we were in the capital city of Belfast. There are so many things to do in Northern Ireland. Here are my highlights from 3 days in the country.

You shouldn’t travel to the island of Ireland without driving the Causeway Coastal Route of Northern Ireland. It’s one of the greatest road trips you’ll ever take, and it’s easy to explore it on your own. There are so many memorable things to do in Northern Ireland and visiting Giants Causeway was just one of them. We saw castles along the way, and the ocean was never far away.

By starting and ending your journey with city breaks in Belfast and Derry respectively, you’ll discover spectacular sights and unique gems that should not be missed. Another highlight of my trip to Northern Ireland was attending a soccer match between Linfield FC and Portadown. Hanging with the locals was a lot of fun!
